FAQ #3
If I take a 2008 exam will it be a problem because I have studied for the 2011 exam?
Actually the calculations change very little from code year to code year. As long as you take a 2008 NEC for that exam you'd be fine.

FAQ#4
Will the city just let anyone take the exam?

Answer- The city of Indianapolis has special requirements you must meet before testing.  Six years of documented electrical experience is what's required before you can take a residential or Master Electrician exam.  If you have questions you may call the Electrical Board Secretary Tonya Hilliard at 317-327-8467.  You must have a board interview before you are given a test date.  Fees are required as well.

FAQ#5
What if I do general maintenance but most of my work is electrical, will that qualify as years of documented electrical experience with the city?
Answer-  The board will have to decide this one.  Bring all of your information to verify your work hours, electrical training, classes and trade schools to assist them in this decision.
